About Our Medical Director

Dr. Melissa Behringer has served as our Medical Director since 2000. Dr. Behringer is a family care physician, working with rehabilitation and long-term care patients since 1995. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alabama, Huntsville and is the Speaker of House for the Medical Association of the State of Alabama’s College of Counselors and House of Delegates. In April 2010, Dr. Behringer was elected as an as an Alabama Delegate to the American Medical Association.

When Dr. Behringer has free time, she enjoys cross-stitching, cooking, and reading.
